Last Paintings of 2015

So much art I made and so many happenings and changes in 2015. Best year yet for my husband and mine studio/gallery in Salida, CO. New House! New cats! Lose of friends. New/Newish friends. Many Colorado travels. The crazy summer that Mumford and Sons invaded our little town. New nephew! Here's to crazy 2015 and the brand new 2016. Thank you for your support in the last year and continuing support for 2016. Here are the last paintings of 2015.

New Window Art

Here are some more of my new upcycled window paintings. These are like two painting in one. One part is painted on the glass, a reverse window painting. Then one painting is done on the back panel to get a three dimensional effect. These are only available at Karen Watkins Art and Handmade in Salida, Colorado at 149 W. 1st Street. The vertical blue birds window is sold.

Salida Artwalk 2014

If you will be in Colorado on the weekend of June 27-29 I suggest going to the Salida Annual Artwalk this year. Our studio/gallery the Carl Bork and Karen Watkins Gallery on 1st and G will have brand new work and deals. I will have new reverse painting window art sold only at our gallery for the time being. There will also be live music and great events everywhere downtown this year.

Cody Wayne Live

I will be doing live art at Cody Wayne Live on July 25th at Benson's on F Street in Salida, Colorado. A portion of sales goes to Chaffee Mammography Group. Tickets available that I know of at Benson's, Carl Bork Fine Art, and The Niche.

New Sign

I finally have a new sign for myself at our gallery in Salida, Colorado. This last year I have sold a ton of art at my husband Carl Bork and I's gallery and decided that I needed a sign in front too. I wasn't sure if I had a market for my art in Salida like Carl did three years ago but I am glad that I was proven wrong. I also hand painted this sign.

Art Show at Currents

I have many of my painting on display at Currents Restaurant http://www.salidacurrents.com/ in downtown Salida, Colorado. If you are in the area please stop by and check out the work and I highly recommend ordering some dinner at Currents as well. They are one of the best restaurants in town. The paintings will be on display until the middle of April.

All Work and No Play makes Karen a Boring Girl

Before January is completely over I wanted to do post of my non work (mostly) related "adventures" of 2012. I did other things besides artwork last year and wanted to share. It is easy to get out of the studio as well in the beautiful state of Colorado.

As for my blog, I am going to try to post much more this year because I feel like I didn't post nearly enough last year. Thanks for reading and mostly looking for to any regular readers!

Salida Artwalk

Next weekend here in Salida, Colorado is the 20th Anniversary Artwalk! Get all the information here: http://salidaartwalk.com/ June 22nd to the 24th. My husband Carl Bork and I are getting the gallery ready for the big event. Here are some pictures of outside of our gallery.

Our New Studio Gallery in Salida, CO

Note: There will be no "Sketch of the Week" this week or next week since our scanner is in another location.

My husband and I are opening a Studio Gallery on gallery row in Salida, CO next week. It is called Carl Bork Fine Art Studio Gallery. It will mostly have Carl's work but I will have quite a few paintings and needle felted figures in it as well. Here are some photos inside and outside our gallery. We will also be moving to Salida officially in June.

Also in the photo is the sign which will be hanging outside. Also a big thanks to Mike Bucher who helped to make this sign!
